Summer classes start on July 6th!
Info on the classes is under the “Class Notes” page (on the tool bar to the left).
This summer, some of the classes are broken down into more manageable, 5 sessions to accommodate summer travel. Hope to see you around!
Friday May 20th
6:30-9:00pm
the Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo Park
Tickets are $40 and are available at www.niharts.com
The Washington Conservatory of Music will perform jazz “Music From the Village: Dave Brubeck to Miles Davis” the evening of the benefit, while J. Jordan Bruns, Walter Bartman, Jackie Hoysted, Margaret Panas and Lida Stifel will render their unique expressions of the performance in paint. Guests will be entertained with extraordinary sounds and sights and have the opportunity to purchase the original artworks created that evening through a silent auction.
All ticket and art sales go directly to the Children’s Inn at NIH. Visitwww.niharts.com for ticket sales and information.
The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health is a residential “place like home” for sick children and their families. Families stay in residence with the child while he/she receives ground breaking medical treatments at the NIH. While the NIH takes care of the child’s medical needs, The Inn tends to the child’s heart, soul and spirit.
It’s always good to have people write about you, it’s better when they are nice! Check out the article written about Jon and me in our little Greenbelt show!
Had a great show at Long View Gallery, 1234 9th St NW Washington D.C. There was a great turn out at the opening and I really like the way the work shows off on the walls. Not many galleries around anymore where the work feels “small” due to gallery size. Hope everyone can see the show, there is one week left.
I hope that everyone gets a chance to see the show at Long View Gallery. I’m in the good company of other great DC artists including Shawn Richards and Ryan McCoy, every one’s work seems to complements each others nicely. The show is up till March 13th. You can also see the new work “Prism Prison there.
We’re in our last week of the Collaboration of 14 Yellow Barn instructors in the stone tower, first floor. Next Saturday will be our open house where the three paintings will be auctioned off. To see the progress that we’re doing, check out the blog (which I am also running), http://yellowbarnstudio.blogspot.com.
Because I do SUCH a great job keeping this blog update (yeah right), I’ve put myself in charge of the new Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery Blog as well.
Next month we’ll be doing the Instructor Collaboration in the Stone Tower at Glen Echo Park, 14 instructors working on 3 paintings for the month. All our images, YouTube feeds and updates will appear on this new blog.
Later, it will focus on news about our instructors and yellow barn events!
Check it out! http://yellowbarnstudio.blogspot.com/
